³⁶ and others ^[a]experienced mockings and scourgings, yes, also ^(A)chains and imprisonment. ³⁷ They were ^(B)stoned, they were ^(C)sawn in two, ^[b]they were tempted, they were ^(D)put to death with the sword; they went about ^(E)in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, ^(F)ill-treated ³⁸ (men of whom the world was not worthy), ^(G)wandering in deserts and mountains and caves and holes ^[c]in the ground.
